Machine Design
PMD can provide complete machine design, or team up with a client's engineering team to design a machine.
Several examples of past machine design projects include the following:
Produce Labeling Machine
PMD Worked closely with the client's president to redesign a Produce Labeling Machine (a machine that applies stickers / labels to fruit, vegetables etc. at a very high rate of speed). The new design retained features of an old design which were tried and proven over decades, and incorporated new features and components to enhance the performance, reliability, and ease of maintenance of the machine out in the field by technicians.
X-Y-Z Positioning Stage Design
PMD worked with the client's internal team of software and controls engineers to create a new, updated version of a previous design of an X-Y-Z, approximately 25 nanometer resolution positioning stage used for microchip / wafer inspection.
Ultra Violet Light Sterilization Machine
PMD was hired to create a "production" version of the client's yoga mat sterilization machine prototype. PMD worked with the client to ensure the original design intent was fully captured and improved upon, while making the entire system easily manufacturable.
Medical Device Component Life Test Fixture
PMD designed a cycle fixture used to test various components of Bariatric Surgery delivery catheter components in a liquid bath.
