Sheet Metal Enclosures / Structures

PMD has extensive experience designing sheet metal enclosures, structures, etc.

Sheet metal enclosures are designed to utilize the flattening features in Solidworks. The Solidworks files are then sent to the sheet metal fabricator, which then uses the files to program the CNC punch presses and press brakes.

Examples of previous sheet metal projects include the following

Medical Device Blood Analysis Machine Enclosure Design

A new sheet metal enclosure was designed to replace the customer's previous, much more expensive enclosure that was composed, in part, of very large and expensive machined components. The new enclosure was designed to be made primary of riveted construction.

Hybrid Human / Battery Powered recreational vehicle

The customer provided a concept hand sketch of a human / battery powered recreational Hybrid vehicle. A frame was designed from scratch by PMD, made as an "excoskeleton" to contain all of the inner components of the vehicle design.

Robot Body Design

Designed a sheet metal body with a shape that appeared to be convex curves, but was actually composed completely of planar and cylindrical features

Rack-Mount Electronics Enclosure

Designed a Rack-Mount Electronics Enclosure for a Military Subcontractor

Sheet Metal Electronics Enclosures

Designed various sheet metal electronics enclosures for various industries / purposes.
